Category - Higenamine [Norcoclaurine]

Higenamine [Norcoclaurine] is a chemical compound found in a variety of plants which have a history of use in traditional medicine. In vitro and animal studies have shown a variety of effects but its effects in humans are unknown. Higenamine is claimed to be 1,3-dimethylamylamine [DMAA] replacement, however, there are no scientific evidence to support these claims. Higenamine is also used and added to many fat burning supplements. Since higenamine is a beta-1 and beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist, it is not clear why is it marketed as a fat burner.
