D-Aspartic acid [DAA, D-Asp] is an endogenous amino acid which occurs in a high concentration in the pineal gland. It is involved in luteinizing hormone, testosterone, GABA and dopamine release. Studies are reporting 30-60% higher serum testosterone in subfertile men. One Italian study noted significantly increased levels of testosterone and luteinizing hormone in 23 men with D-Aspartic acid [3 g per day] ingestion.
