Quercetin is a type of plant-based chemical that is claimed to be a powerful antioxidant with positive effects on exercise endurance with faster recovery. Several laboratory studies noted quercetin may have anti-inflammatory properties and in vitro studies showed antioxidant properties but not in vivo. Furthermore, 1000 mg of Quercetin a day for three weeks failed to attenuate muscle damage. Quercetin is generally considered safe.
